Arizona Wins Fourth Consecutive Gold Shovel Award Recognizing Significant Economic Development Efforts

PHOENIX, AZ (June 20, 2024) – Arizona today was awarded a prestigious “Gold Shovel” award from Area Development magazine in the 5-8 million population category, marking the state’s fourth consecutive gold shovel. The Shovel Awards recognize states that “garnered large job-creating and investment projects through innovative policies, infrastructure improvements, and other processes that attracted new employers as well as investments in expanded facilities.” Area Development named LG Energy Solution’s investment in Queen Creek a “Manufacturing Projects of the Year” and “Cleantech Projects of the Year," and Amkor, a leading provider of semiconductor packaging and test services, a “Non-Manufacturing Projects Of The Year.”

ACA Statement On Five Year Reauthorization from Governor, Legislature

PHOENIX, AZ (June 18, 2024) – President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) Sandra Watson released the following statement after passage by the Arizona Legislature and signature from the Governor of legislation to reauthorize the ACA through 2029. “We are so grateful for the strong bipartisan support among our state’s leaders. This legislation is a huge win for Arizonans and our economy - allowing us to continue and build upon the economic momentum that has made our state a global magnet for jobs and investment. Mohave Community College Breaks Ground On Future48 Workforce Accelerator In Kingman

KINGMAN, AZ (June 18, 2024) – Mohave Community College (MCC) launched a new era for the college and the region today with a groundbreaking ceremony for the Future48 Workforce Accelerator, the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center (AMTC) in Kingman, Arizona. The event took place at the future home of the AMTC at the Kingman Airport Industrial Park. The AMTC, supported in partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority, is part of the Future48 Workforce Accelerators, a $30 million investment to establish training centers statewide in partnership with local community colleges. The Workforce Accelerators will provide skills training for jobs in the state’s growing advanced manufacturing industry.
